Because your pre-kindergarten child is rapidly approaching the elementary school a focused approach to printing, number skills and phonic blends is necessary.  The scope and sequence of First School's Pre-K class directs its emphasis on these fundamental elementary skills.  Your child will recognize the name, sound, and pictures for letter blends.  They will be mastering their printing skills of letters in an introduction to phonics.  Number concepts up to 19 will be introduced and mastered in this class.  counting up to 80 is a First School Pre-K goal.  Fine, gross, and perceptual motor skills are worked on daily.  Your child will receive an orientation to all of this and much more in our Pre-kindergarten program.

Remember that even though these educational skills are very important they don't need to be boring to learn.  First School is aware of the correlation between a child's enthusiasm and the will to learn.   Your child will have fun while learning at First School!
